Religious School
The philosophy of our Religious School is to give our children a total Jewish Education. We want them to cherish their Jewish Identity. Our curriculum includes mitzvah projects and innovative and creative family programs, which are set in an informal environment and create meaningful Jewish learning experiences. Free Religious School Tuition is included in our dramatically lowered membership fees.

Bar and Bat Mitzvah Preparation
Our curriculum is based on reinforcing our Hebrew and Blessings-fluency in preparation for the student's b'nai mitzvoth. We explore the topic of Mitzvoth as a whole and what our responsibility is to perform and honor these mitzvoth (commandments).

We look forward to
when we can all be together again.

B'NAI MITZVAH STUDENTS PREPARE PERSONAL POUCHES FOR THE COMMUNITY'S NEEDY
The City of Long Beach and the Long Beach Police Department received 100 bags filled with personal care items for those in need in our community. The bags were generously donated by Temple Emanu-El B'nai Mitzvah students who volunteered to participate in the Personal Pouch Project led by Religious Education Director, Sandy Schumer, and Rabbi Jack Zanerhaft. The students each filled nine personal pouches with items including hand sanitizer, masks, toothbrushes, toothpaste, lip balm, socks, hats, gloves and more. Personal Pouches were also put together specifically for children with small toys, cards and crayons. Tags with encouraging words written by the students were attached to the outside of the pouches. The LBPD will be distributing the pouches to the homeless in our community.

Chrysalis Mandel teaches her students the meaning of Tu B’Shevat on Zoom.
She had delivered holiday bags to her class containing items to plant, including
Parsley ( hopefully to be used on the family Seder plate).
They all enjoyed the activity. Chrysalis is a lovely addition to our RS staff.
